Recently, tactics and firearms training was provided for Level I Reserve Officers at the Elysian Park Academy. This training was offered to 80 reserve officers and demonstrates the Departments commitment to the program. While in-service training for full-time officers has been limited recently, the Department found the funding to offer these special classes to Level I Officers and the Reserve Foundation supported the effort by hosting a lunch.

Free POST-approved training is available through the Regional Community Policing Institute-Los Angeles. Topics include Terrorism Awareness Training, Ethics and Integrity, Domestic Violence, Workplace Violence, and many others. For further information, visit www.rcpi-la.org.

Level II Training for Technical Reserves
To date, 29 technical reserve officers have indicated an interest in attending the Level II training. If you are interested or would like additional information, please contact Officer Nathan Ruvalcaba at (213) 485-4097.

Training for Divisional Reserve Coordinators and R-5s
A training day is in the planning stages for all Divisional Reserve Coordinators and R-5s to learn best practices and to share ideas. Please stay tuned.
